Black Mountain Vineyard “Fat Cat” Cabernet Sauvignon
#48 front corrected

So many of the sub-$10 Cabernets we’ve tasted have been pale representations of the varietal, with its typical tannins seemingly filtered out. This $5.99 offering from the same company that produces Two-Buck Chuck is at least truer to form. The nose is a bit flinty, with a whiff of toasted oak. On the tongue, it’s dark red fruit, nicely integrated oak, and—finally—decent tannins.
