Wait for another rendition; this one doesn’t work. With candy apple and gummi bear in the nose, followed by dirty oak and high acidity in the taste, it’s a mess.
The best of the three California Cabs reviewed today, with dark cherry, rhubarb, and vanilla in the nose. The taste reveals ripe fruit, leather, and firm tannins. It’s on the light side, but at least reflects the characteristics of the varietal. Not spectacular, but a fair buy at the price.
