Trentatre “33” Rosso

From the Salento region of southern Italy, this is a blend of roughly 33% each of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Montepulciano. The nose offers dried leaves and dirt, with some cherry and Band-Aid (i.e., brettanomyces) thrown in for good measure. On the palate: thin, sour, and somewhat metallic. It is unimproved even after an hour or so of aeration.

I have a very refined palate. As a matter of fact I enjoy several more expensive wines (Cakebread, Coppola Directors Cut, Gabiano Black Label, Stags Leap, EVO, Faustino I, V, etc.). I find the Trentatre a very pleasurable everyday wine. If you have a specific critique, please share. Otherwise I find your comment lacking, which maybe that reflects your palate.
