Tres Pinos Three Pines Cuvee

This white wine from San Luis Obispo is composed of Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, and Viognier.  The nose offers hints of peach and pear, but the fruit is easily overwhelmed by petroleum. We found the palate to be flabby and unimpressive.

Islay Peak Pinot Noir

A nose of cherry, dark dried fruit, spice, and sweet oak. The palate is more earthy and gamey. One of us thought it was nicely balanced, but the other two found it a bit cloying.

Tres Pinos – Three Pines Cuvee

This is a kitchen-sink blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, Cabernet, and Merlot, cellared and bottled by San Antonio Winery in Los Angeles. The nose is of candied fruit, sweet spice, and a hint of burnt rubber. Nicely balanced, with a vague fruitiness and tobacco finish.
